How does an initial acupuncture visit work and what can I expect?
Expect no pressure and there is no cancellation policy. Wear loose clothing and eat something light about an hour before the appointment. We start by listening to all of your history, primary, and secondary complaints. Specific factors related to comorbidities are explored as we determine differential diagnosis, with the aim of understanding the mechanisms of your condition and determining factors that lead to the current presentation. Once a differential diagnosis is established, we will design a treatment plan that works with your preferences. The treatment plan may include a range of acupuncture modalities such as acupuncture, herbs, moxibustion, food therapy, tui na massage, cupping, gui shi, and health coaching. Visits are generally 60-90 minutes.
